The first round Carabao Cup tie will take place on Tuesday 10 August (KO 7.45pm), as Lee Johnson’s side turn their attention to cup competition following Saturday’s league opener against Wigan Athletic.
Sunderland’s last trip to Vale Park came in November 2018 in the Emirates FA Cup, as goals from George Honeyman and Lynden Gooch sealed a red and white victory.
