Defender catches up with SAFSee at Villa Park.

Sunderland claimed their second clean-sheet of the season in the Barclays Premier League in the draw with Aston Villa.

The result saw the Black Cats leave the Midlands with a hard-earned point on the board, according to defender Wes Brown.

“It was a difficult game,” Brown told SAFSee. “There was a lot of attacking and I think that we did well.

“Villa have got some quality players and we had to pay extra  attention to them to make sure they weren’t a threat.”

The visitors watched Villa front men Gabriel Agbonlahor and Christian Benteke grow increasingly frustrated as they missed goal scoring opportunities in the first half, before Emanuele Giaccherini spurned the chance of the match moments before half time.

“Not only did we defend well and keep a clean-sheet,” Brown continued, “but we created a number of chances, it’s just unfortunate that we didn’t put any of them away.

“We take the point and hope we can build on that and get results over the next couple of games.”
