SAFC Women: International round-up

Several Sunderland Women players have been in action for their respective national teams over the past week.

Katie Kitching represented New Zealand for their double header of friendlies against 2011 World Cup winners Japan.

Kitching started the first match in Murcia playing 84 minutes and was subbed on in the second half for the final game as the Ferns played their final test in preparation for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in July.

Mary McAteer earned her first ever Wales start as the 20-year-old began the first game against Ukraine as the teams played out a 1-1 draw.

The Sunderland number nine entered the pitch on the 58th minute in the second match against Ukraine as the match finished 2-2. Wales currently sit second in their Euro League B group, one point behind Croatia, with the Dragons set to play the group leaders and Kosovo for the final matches in July.

Liz Ejupi started twice for Kosovo in their Euro qualifiers against Croatia with the striker playing the full match in the first game and featuring for 81 minutes in the second against the leaders.
