Alex Gorrin

Alex hails from Tenerife and signed his first professional deal in summer 2011 after completing a scholarship with Sunderland’s Academy.

He was the first Spanish national to represent the Academy and turned down an approach from Tenerife of La Liga to join the Black Cats.

The ball-playing midfielder enjoys getting stuck in at both ends of the pitch and is renowned for his excellent attitude to the game.

Alex broke into the development squad in 2010-11, also making four appearances for the reserves.

And he added another 10 games for the second string in 2011-12, playing an increasingly important role as the season wore on.
