Events Development Executive

Full Time (40 hours)

Sunderland AFC are looking to appoint a Events Development Executive to maximise event sales, whilst balancing event planning and supporting other areas of the business as required.

 

Core Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

 

Sales:

  • Generate new sales leads and opportunities
  • Maximise revenue opportunities by driving sales and increasing conversions
  • Responding to all incoming enquiries and carrying out showarounds as required
  • Keep in regular your clients throughout the sales process
  • Regular client appointments and meetings to develop a strong relationship with each client
  • Present the Clubs Portfolio of products whilst preparing creative proposals for clients
  • Work to gain a comprehensive understanding of your clients/audience/products
  • Prepare creative proposals for your clients
  • Ensuring the highest standard of customer satisfaction through regular ongoing contact with your clients
  • Attend networking events to build relationships with potential clients and knowledge of how other events venues operate
  • Support Events Sales Manager with continuous business development and action of sales initiatives
  • Weekly update for Event Sales Manager, outlining sales activity and relevant financial information

 

Event planning:

  • Coordinating and overseeing the delivery, preparations and on the day execution of events in line with client requirements
  • Work with clients to ensure their requirements are met and translate them into operational instructions for other departments
  • Lead weekly team meetings, to coordinate with Delivery and Catering teams, and pass on detailed function sheets, floor plans, dietary requirements, timings and other event specifics
  • Have the confidence to suggest and implement improvements within the events service

 

Other areas:

  • Share event sales knowledge and expertise to support Events strategy
  • Build internal relationships across all departments
  • To assist in the management of major accounts as required
  • Follow standard operating procedures as set by the Club
  • Ability to achieve and exceed sales targets and KPI’s
  • Always understand and comply with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • Work events as and when needed
  • Conduct relevant market research and analysis to identify key trends
  • Work with other Event Sales Coordinators and Events Admin to support the department as required
