FA Cup: 1973
Ian Porterfield scored the only goal of the game when Sunderland beat Leeds United 1-0 in the FA Cup Final at Wembley on 5 May 1973.
Porterfield's strike was enough to secure a famous win over firm-favourites Leeds and secure Sunderland's second FA Cup following victory in 1937.
It was the 92nd final - the 46th to be played at Wembley - and Bob Stokoe's Sunderland became the first Second Division side to win the cup since West Bromwich Albion in 1931.
The final - the only one in history to be played using an orange ball - went down as one of the biggest shocks in the competition's history as Sunderland took the cup back to Roker Park.
Porterfield will be forever remembered for his goal, but so too will Jimmy Montgomery after he made not one but two of the finest saves ever to keep out Leeds' Trevor Cherry and Peter Lorimer.
Sunderland beat Notts County, Reading, Manchester City - all after replays - Luton Town and Arsenal on their way to the final.
