Under-23 arrival: Jack McIntyre joins SAFC

Sunderland AFC is delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Jack McIntyre.

The 18-year-old has put pen to paper on a one-year deal, and he will link up with Elliott Dickman’s Under-23 squad for the upcoming season after a successful trial period.

He becomes the Under-23s’ seventh signing of the summer, arriving from Everton following the expiration of his contract.

McIntyre joined the Toffees from Manchester City aged 14 and went on to represent the Merseyside outfit in the Under-18 Premier League and Premier League 2.

After signing terms on Wearside, McIntyre said: “Sunderland is a massive club and I’m delighted to be here. The players, staff and everyone around the place have made me feel very welcome and I can’t wait to get going now.”

Under-23 Head Coach Elliott Dickman added: “Jack has been on trial for a number of weeks, and we’ve been pleased with him. He’s going to add some quality to our group, and hopefully he’ll be in and around the first team in a training role.”
