Sunderland AFC can confirm Michael Spellman has joined Whitby Town on a one-month loan.
The 20-year-old winger has made the switch to the Yorkshire side to gain further senior experience, as they continue to compete in the Northern Premier League.
Spellman has enjoyed a bright start to the campaign, having claimed four assists in the opening four Under-21 matches of the season, and making his first-team debut in the Carabao Cup against Sheffield Wednesday last month.
The Park View Academy graduate arrived in the summer from Chester-le-Street United, having played a significant part of last season on trial in Premier League 2 matches.
