Sunderland AFC Under-21s return to Premier League Cup action on Monday with the visit of Tottenham Hotspur to Eppleton CW (7.00pm).
The Premier League Cup
The Black Cats sit second in Group E alongside leaders Tottenham, bottom of the group Peterborough and third placed Bristol City.
Graeme Murty’s side were narrowly beaten 3-2 in the cup opener against Spurs before beating Peterborough at the start of October.
A free kick from Ellis Taylor and a last-minute winner from Henry Fieldson sealed victory at Eppleton CW.
Taylor then grabbed the only goal of the game in the away fixture at Bristol slotting away a coolly taken penalty.
All sides will face each other home and away within their group and the top two teams advance to the knockout stages.
Tottenham Hotspur sit top of the group with three wins from three.
The North London side have also shown impressive league form this season with eight wins from their opening eight games.
Current Head Coach, Wayne Burnett, made over 300 senior career appearances for the likes of Blackburn Rovers, Bolton and Huddersfield Town.
The former midfielder started his coaching career at Fisher Athletic and managed Dagenham and Redbridge FC before joining the league leaders.
Last time out
The two sides have already met twice this season with Spurs being victors on both occasions.
In the opening Premier League Cup game, the Lads came from behind twice with goals from Taylor and Ben Crompton but a 94th minute free-kick from Harvey White snatched away the three points.
In the league, a first-half equaliser from Michael Spellman and a second-half header from Nectorias Triantis weren't quite enough as goals from Jude Soonsup-Bell, Will Lankshear and a double from George Abbott confirmed their 4-2 victory.
