SoL Update: Car Park Charge to be Introduced

A car parking charge is set to be introduced at the Stadium of Light from late summer following a statutory consultation process.

Sunderland AFC supporters are advised that these charges will be applied on non-matchdays and event days only and NOT on senior team matchdays.

Introduced in conjunction with Sunderland City Council, the tariffs are considerably lower than other city centre car parks and aim to help manage parking throughout Sunderland as part of the city’s ongoing regeneration project.

It will also help to deliver the City of Sunderland’s 2030 Carbon reduction targets, whilst encouraging people within the region to consider using more sustainable methods of travel.

Users will be able to park for at the Stadium of Light for 50p per hour, or park for the full day for a maximum charge of £3.

Payment will be taken via the RingGO cashless parking app and clear information will be displayed in each car park, including details of the tariffs and payment methods, with further details also available online by clicking here.

Priced at £350 per annum, an annual permit option will also be available to purchase and these will be issued by the Council’s Parking Services Team.

More information on using RingGo can be found at Pay for parking in Sunderland with RingGo - Sunderland City Council.
