News: SAFC partner with Seriös Group

Sunderland AFC is delighted to announce a new multi-year partnership with Seriös Group.

Formed in 2020, Seriös Group are a boutique data and test solutions provider, specialising in systems and data integration, data analytics, and software testing.

SAFC has collaborated with the North-East based organisation since 2022, working side-by-side to create a bespoke player and opposition analysis data platform solution.

Now with a team of more than 50 specialists in place delivering solutions and services to clients in the UK and overseas, Seriös Group recently launched their proprietary data platform, ‘Seriös One’, which offers Enterprise and Smart Buildings analytics use cases.

As part of the partnership, SAFC will be on-boarded to the platform, which will collect and analyse energy consumption with space utilisation data across the Academy of Light and Stadium of Light.

This will support fulfilment of the Club’s ambitious sustainability goals, with SAFC striving to be energy self-sufficient from renewable sources by 2028 and achieve carbon net zero by 2040.

SAFC’s Chief Operating Officer, Steve Davison, said: “We are delighted to be expanding our partnership with Seriös Group and to be embracing their technology throughout the wider Club. It’s no secret that we have set ambitious long-term sustainability objectives and the most effective way of immediate gains is to reduce our existing energy consumption. Seriös Group’s technology will enable us to make informed and impactful decisions, and this partnership will form an essential part of what must be a unified effort by aligned stakeholders within the region to tackle climate change.”

Seriös Group’s CEO, Lee Rorison added: “I am excited and proud to be joining forces with Sunderland Football Club as we embark on a visionary journey towards carbon neutrality. Our innovative data platform ‘Seriös One’ will serve as the strategic playbook, helping the club navigate the path to net zero emissions and smart energy management. This partnership is about achieving sustainability goals as we score a winning future for the environment.”
