Timeline: How Ross' first day unfolded

It’s been another big week on Wearside.

After taking over the club on 21 May, Stewart Donald declared he would have a new manager in place within seven days – and he followed up on his promise.

Jack Ross was appointed one week ago, and he arrived at the Stadium of Light on Thursday for his first official day on the job.

11:00: Jack Ross arrives on Wearside for his first day at work, and it didn’t take long for the new Sunderland manager to bump into the some of the red and white army. The group Ross met had just renewed their season cards and picked their seat, and the boss would soon do the same.

11.30: Ross is given a guided tour of the Stadium of Light. We all remember our first visit to fortress Wearside, and Scot was impressed, declaring, ‘it’s alright isn’t it’, after walking out of the tunnel for the first time. The smile told you it was more than alright.

12:30: The boss sits in front of the SAFSee cameras for the first time, discussing his arrival at the club, his hopes and ambitions, and so much more. You can watch the full interview by clicking here.

13:00: After taking a look at the Stadium of Light, Ross took a short trip down the road to find his new office at the Academy of Light. The boss also met some of his new colleagues, making sure to stop and talk to everyone who crossed his path.

13:30: The one you were all waiting for. The scarf pic arrives.

15:00: The new boss holds his first press conference, meeting the local and national media. Ross fielded questions on a range of topics from his plans to transfers, and you can watch the full press conference by clicking here.

17:00: Going one step beyond, Ross quickly jumped in the car and made his way to Sun FM to join the Wise Men Say podcast. Talking with hosts Stephen Goldsmith, Gareth Barker, the boss answered fan questions as Stewart Donald also made an appearance.
