Benji Kimpioka has joined Torquay United on loan until the end of the 2020-21 season.
The Sweden Under-21 international returned to action last month for the club’s Under-23 side and was also named in Lee Johnson’s squad for the Papa John’s Trophy Final.
Kimpioka, 21, has scored three goals in 14 first-team appearances at the Stadium of Light and has netted four goals in six appearances this season for the Lads’ development side.
Sporting Director Kristjaan Speakman said: “Benji has missed a significant period of the season and we are delighted that he’s now returned to full fitness. We are keen for him to obtain more games in a competitive setting and based upon the point we are at in the season, this is a great opportunity for him.”
The deal includes an option for SAFC to recall the forward after 28 days.
