Team News: Latest on Wyke, McGeady and Flanagan

Lee Johnson has given the latest update on team news ahead of Sunday's final Sky Bet League One regular season match against Northampton Town.

Both Charlie Wyke and Aiden McGeady missed last weekend's victory at Plymouth Argyle with minor injuries, and the Head Coach explained there is a possibility the duo could return to the side - albeit with one eye on the imminent play-off semi-finals.

"Aiden and Charlie could possibly get minutes on Sunday. They both want to play every minute of every game," Johnson said.

"I don't want to take any untoward risks at the weekend, but they both want to get going - it's not an easy balance in game time and looking ahead to the play-offs, but I think we'll find it.

"With tall players in particular like Charlie, keeping them oiled and getting them plenty of minutes is what benefits them the most. I'm confident that if the two of them get through Sunday okay, they'll be perfectly fine for the first play-off semi-final."

Johnson then analysed the potential of a return for Tom Flanagan, as well the status of the recently returned Conor McLaughlin and several other of his squad members.

"Conor is under consideration. Flanno has that week to 10 days' training behind him, so I would say he's 50/50 for Sunday.

"Then we've got Jake Vokins who is coming back, and Callum McFadzean who hasn't had too many minutes of late.

"We're articulating to the lads what we require of them; that risk-reward factor is important for us when we consider the fitness of all of the squad."
