Starting XI: Four starting debuts in youthful line-up

Four players will make their Sunderland debuts tonight at the Stadium of Light, as a youthful side take on Manchester United Under-21s in the Papa John's Trophy.

Jacob Carney lines up against his former side to make his first senior appearance in English football, whilst Patrick Almond, Tyrese Dyce and Tom Scott also make first-team debuts.

Lee Johnson names a bench entirely made up of Academy players, with all seven youngsters making their senior bows should they be involved. Zak Johnson at 16 is the youngest of the substitutes, whilst Denver Hume captains the side.

Ollie Younger, Ellis Taylor and Stephen Wearne all start.
