Done Deal: Edouard Michut arrives from PSG

Sunderland AFC is delighted to announce the signing of Edouard Michut.

The versatile midfielder, 19, arrives from Paris Saint-Germain on an initial loan deal until the end of the season, which includes a Club option to make the transfer permanent.

Michut made his senior debut for PSG in a 4-0 win over Dijon FCO on 27 February 2021 and he went on to make eight first-team appearances for the Ligue 1-winning side during the 2021-22 campaign.

He contributed his first assist in a 1-1 draw with Lyon in January aged 18 years and 311 days, becoming the youngest player to register an assist for Les Parisiens since Kylian Mbappé.

Michut continued to train and feature for the senior team throughout the campaign, lining up alongside the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar, and was part of the squad that faced Real Madrid in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

A youth international for France at Under-16, 17 and 19 level, he also represented PSG frequently in the UEFA Youth League during the 2021-22 season.

Upon arriving at SAFC, Michut said: “I had a fantastic experience at Paris Saint-Germain, but now I’m ready for a new challenge and I’m very happy to be here. I travelled to the Stadium of Light on Saturday to watch the game against Norwich City and the atmosphere inside the stadium was unbelievable. This is an opportunity for me to level up as a player and I always wanted to play in England, but I also like the project and that is why I’m here. My preparation for the season has been good and I’m ready to help the team.”
