Player of the Month: Amad nominated for second award

Amad's excellent form in recent weeks has seen him nominated for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award.

In three league games played during November, the 20-year-old showcased his prodigious ability with two goals and an assist – including a man-of-the-match display in our 2-1 win at Birmingham City just prior to the pause for the World Cup.

This is the second Player of the Month prize for which the forward has been nominated, after he was shortlisted for the PFA Vertu Motors Fans’ POTM award for the Championship.

Earning plaudits from fans, teammates and coaching staff alike, Amad’s performances have thoroughly endeared himself to Wearside and helped to elevate the Lads back into the top half of the table.

Amad is in the frame for the accolade alongside Middlesbrough’s Chuba Akpom, Kyle Bartley of West Bromwich Albion, and Coventry City’s Viktor Gyokeres.

The judging panel for the award comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, EFL Chief Executive Trevor Birch, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.

Congratulations and good luck, Amad!
