Exit: Younger joins Doncaster Rovers

Sunderland AFC can confirm that Oliver Younger has joined Doncaster Rovers on a permanent deal.

The centre-back, who arrived at the Stadium of Light from Burnley in 2020, moves to the Eco-Power Stadium and signs an 18-month deal.

During his time on Wearside, Younger made eight first-team appearances and was part of the Under-23 side that reached the Premier League 2 Play-Off Final.

Kristjaan Speakman said: “Ollie has really progressed over the last 18 months, but not populated the starting eleven enough due to the competition between our senior players. We believe that it’s important he continues his development to build a career and Doncaster represents a fantastic opportunity for him. Whilst the selfish approach would be to retain him, we need to support our young players with the right decisions at the right time. He’s a great kid and we wish him well.”

All at SAFC wish Ollie the best of luck in his future career.
