Internationals: Bennette strikes twice in Korea

Jewison Bennette continued his inspired form on Friday afternoon, as his two goals helped secure a 2-2 draw for Costa Rica away in South Korea.

The 18-year-old summer signing – who struck his first in English football last weekend against Watford to salvage the same result – turned the game on its head with two close-range finishes either side of half-time at the Goyang Stadium.

Hwang Hee-Chan of Wolverhampton Wanderers opened the scoring for the home side after 28 minutes, before Bennette finished off a tidy move four minutes from the break.

He then went on to double his tally and give Costa Rica a surprise lead 18 minutes into the second half, before being withdrawn shortly afterwards.

Goalkeeper Esteban Alvarado was sent off for the Central American nation nine minutes from the end, before Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-Min levelled the score late on.

Fantastic game, Jewi, and great effort, Costa Rica!
