Niall Huggins' incredible solo goal has won the Sky Bet Championship Goal of the Month Award for October.
The incredible strike, which was part of the Lads' 2-0 victory over Watford last month, beat off competition from Leicester City's Jamie Vardy, Ipswich Town's Conor Chaplin and Rotherham United's Jordan Hugill.
The full-back picked the ball up midway in the opposition's half, weaved past two men and fired an effort into the top corner.
The 22-year-old said:“I am delighted to win this award. It was my first professional goal and it was definitely one to remember.
“I like to get forward from full-back and I’ll always back myself in front of goal so I’m happy with how I took my first goal for Sunderland.”
Huggins received his award whilst on international duty with Wales as the senior squad prepares for two crucial Euro 2024 qualifying matches against Armenia and Turkey.
