Callum Styles has completed his loan move to Wearside from Barnsley and becomes our third signing of the January transfer window.

- Callum John Styles was born in Bury on 28 March 2000.
- Having come through the youth ranks at Burnley, Styles joined League One side Bury in 2016 on a permanent basis.
- Styles made history by becoming the first player born in this millennium to play a professional game in the English Football League. He came on as a second-half substitute in a 3-2 win over Southend aged 16 years and 41 days.
- Barnsley swooped in for his signature in 2018 and loaned him back to Bury for their League Two 18/19 campaign.

- Styles is eligible to play for Hungary through his grandparents and made his debut for the national team in a friendly against Serbia in 2022.
- The 23-year-old has gone on to make 18 appearances for the senior side which included a starting place in a 4-0 friendly victory over England.
- He is set to represent his nation in next year’s Euro 2024 competition after winning their qualification group with an unbeaten record of five wins and three draws.
- Styles spent last season on loan at Championship level with Millwall making 22 appearances and scoring one goal as the Lions just missed out on a Play-Off spot finishing in eighth.
- After over 200 appearances in professional football at the age of 23, Styles becomes the third signing of the January transfer window.
