Key information: Season card update

Sunderland AFC today issued the following update its supporters on 2019-20 season cards and 2020-21 renewals.

Throughout what continues to be an incredibly challenging period, the club has consulted various supporter groups to ensure fans’ voices are heard and that they are represented in any decisions made.

Like all clubs, SAFC has incurred the cost of a full season without receiving the projected revenue that typically comes with it, but we recognise that supporting those who support us is paramount.

As a result, the club can confirm that fans with existing season cards will be eligible to apply for a refund should the 2019-20 season be curtailed. In the event that the current campaign is completed behind closed doors, season card holders would be given a free streaming pass for all remaining home fixtures.

Once clarity on the completion of the 2019-20 season has been provided by the EFL, further information will follow.

Despite the unprecedented uncertainty surrounding the resumption of professional football in the UK, thousands of SAFC fans have already thrown their support behind the club by renewing for the 2020-21 campaign.

This is an unparalleled demonstration of loyalty at a time when your support is more important than ever. It is very much appreciated, and it will not be forgotten.

2020-21 season cards will remain on sale at the early-bird rate until further notice and supporters utilising the Direct Debit scheme are advised that the first payment will be processed on Wednesday 1 July. The deadline to buy or renew using the Direct Debit plan is Thursday 11 June.

Of course, the impact of COVID-19 transcends football and we appreciate the enormous toll it continues to take on our supporters and our community.

If you are signed up to auto-renew via Direct Debit and are unable to do so at this time, please ensure that you cancel your Direct Debit renewal by contacting ticket.office@safc.com by Thursday 11 June to ensure that you are not charged.

Any unrenewed seats will be reserved until further notice to ensure fans unable to commit to a season card at this time do not lose their favoured spot.

Should next season start behind closed doors, 2020-21 season card holders would be eligible for a streaming pass at no additional cost.

In line with Government advice, the Stadium of Light box office remains closed, including telephone lines, and all queries must be sent via email to ticket.office@safc.com.

SAFC would like to once again thank supporters for their continued patience and support.
