Sunderland AFC Women is delighted to announce the signing of defender Amy Goddard.
The centre back has penned a professional contract on Wearside.
Goddard has played for various clubs across England, including Bristol City and Yeovil in the WSL, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and most recently, Oxford United.
The defender has been on trial with the Club over the past couple of weeks and played in the Lasses’ first pre-season friendly against Celtic Women in centre-half.
Goddard said: “I'm absolutely buzzing. As soon as I came here, seeing the facilities, meeting the staff and the players, I'm just really ready to get going now."
Head Coach Mel Reay said: “Amy has shown us last week what she can add to the current squad. She is a ball playing centre half who has a huge presence in both boxes. She is a natural leader which can be seen with how smoothly she has integrated into the squad.”
